Hey, Reader. Last Friday I stood in front of about 125 women at Be You Brand Live, and I opened with a question instead of an introduction. I asked them to raise their hand if this has happened to them: you post something you spent way too long on. A carousel, a reel, a caption you rewrote five times. And it gets ten likes. One of them is your mom 😨 Then I asked them to keep their hand up if that same week they watched someone in their industry, someone they know isn't better than them, land a podcast feature, a speaking spot, a collab they would've killed for. And they thought: why not me? Almost every hand in the room stayed up. If yours would've too, I want to tell you what I told them. Podcasting isn't about downloads. It's not about going viral. It's about the fact that 100 podcast listeners are not the same as 100 social followers. A follower gives you 1.7 seconds of a scroll. A listener gives you 20, 30, 40 minutes of real attention... often in their car, on a walk, doing the dishes. By the time someone's finished three episodes of your show, they don't feel like a follower anymore. They feel like they already know you. That's not reach. That's a relationship. And relationships are what actually get you seen, heard, and booked (the name of my talk!) I gave that room one piece of homework before I even told them what I do... and now I'm giving it to you too.By the end of the following week, get yourself booked as a guest on a podcast. Any podcast. Pitch yourself. Be bold about it. You don't need a huge platform to start being seen as the authority you already are. You need one conversation, recorded, that outlives the scroll. If you already have a podcast and want to get sharper at exactly that, pitching yourself well, landing the booking, actually turning a guest spot into real opportunities, that's good timing. Next month's training inside The Podcast Cafe is all about podcast guesting. The Podcast Cafe is the room I built for podcasters who are done Googling their way through growth alone. You get the training, real feedback on your show, and a room of people who've actually done this ~ guesting included. They're the ones who got really clear on what their show was supposed to do inside their business and built it around that. Everything else followed. |
